Helen Louise Rogers, 94, of Columbus, GA died Monday, August 27, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Tony Dickerson officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers was born July 3, 1924 in Levenworth, KS daughter of the late Frank N. Butzin and Sarah Pratt Butzin. She worked as a Clerk for the Army Air Force Exchange System and was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Senior Citizens club of South Columbus, the Army AFE Retired Association, WMU, and the Independent Order of Forester's IOF.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arden Rogers, Sr., daughters, Ruth Elaine Herman and Linda Louise Foley, son, William "Billy" Charles Rogers, Jr., son-in-law, Larry Foley, grandson, Brian Tucker, and great-great grandson, Matthew McCall.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Marie Wildenberg (John) of Douglasville, GA and Suellen Jones (Jeff) of Columbus, GA, son, James Arden Rogers, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to Kindred Hospice especially Cindy Richards and special grandchild, Ashlyn Cariel, who took such special care of her until the end.
