Helen Joyce Alford Queen, 81 of Columbus died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Morningside Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, October 28, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with Rev. Loran Smith officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 till 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Queen was born in her parent's home in Columbus, GA on September 9, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Lois Shirey Alford and Emmett Hoyt Alford. She attended Columbus public schools and graduated in 1946 from Jordan Vocational High School. She attended Georgia State Womenâ
