Helen H. Lowe, 78, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 17, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at St. Peter United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Miller officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Helen was born December 23, 1942 in Montclair, NJ to the late Carl August Hess and Helen Clemenson Hess. She was a teacher at Britt-David School and worked for the Muscogee County School District and North Judson, IN for 37 years. She was named in Who’s Who Among the America’ Teachers four times. She was an active member of St. Peter United Methodist Church, a member of numerous Bridge Clubs and she loved going to the beach.
Helen is survived by her sons; Andrew Robert Lowe (Christie) of Columbus, GA, James Kip Lowe (Suzanne) of Cecil, AL, brothers; Carl Hess (Susan) of Madison, NJ, Robert Hess (Barbara) of Fripp Island, SC , Stevens Hess (Patricia) of Easton, PA, grandchildren; Kaylee, Paige, Ella Grace, Peyton, nieces and nephews; Carrie, Jennifer, Kristin, Erik, Doug, Josh and Dustin.
