Helen Barr Jones, 73, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her residence.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church, 6304 Lynridge Avenue, Columbus, GA 31909 with Rev. Olivia Poole officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born March 3, 1943 in Carlstadt, NJ, daughter of the late John Barr and Ruth Roessler Outwater. She was a member of Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Children's Church for 22 years and worked in the Pantry at the Church. Mrs. Jones worked with Burnham Van Lines and retired from Bell South as a Service Representative. She loved her family and her friends.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Floyd "Bobby" Jones of Columbus, GA; daughter, Sherry Ann Carter (Kenneth) of Smiths, AL; son, Kenneth Todd Smith (Kim) of Columbus, GA; grandsons, William "Drew" Ellis (Rebecca) of Columbus, GA, Corey Michael Ellis of Smiths, AL, Caden Cashe Smith of Columbus, GA and Cooper Allen Smith of Columbus, GA; step-sons, Tommy Michael Jones of Columbus, GA and Christopher George Jones of Atlanta, GA; brother, John Barr (Jean) of Smiths, AL; and sister, Harriett Pairo of Ringwood, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church, 6304 Lynridge Avenue, Columbus, GA 31909.
