Helen Colleen Hagen

Helen Colleen Hagen, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 29, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her home in Manassas, Virginia surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Beallwood Baptist Church, 4519 Hamilton Road, Columbus, Georgia 31904. Reverend Billy Duncan will be officiating the service. There will be a private interment at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Alabama.

Helen was born on April 29, 1926 in Columbus, Georgia where she lived until 1971. She graduated from Jordan High School and was employed at Schwab Manufacturing and subsequently at J.C. Penny department store. She married her husband, Robert R. Hagen, in 1950. She, her husband and son moved to Woodbridge, Virginia in 1971 where she went to work for the National Guard Bureau at the Pentagon. In 1986, she retired along with her husband and they moved to Cataula, Georgia. She and Robert spent their retirement years traveling in their RV until 2014 when they moved to Manassas, Virginia. She was a faithful member of Beallwood Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother, Mary Eva Cato, her father Andrew Clarence Parker, both of Columbus; her sisters Mildred Riley of Columbus and Alice Forbes of Alabama.

She leaves behind her son, Robert R. Hagen Jr., and daughter-in-law, Jill Hagen, both of Manassas; her granddaughters Courtney of Washington, DC, Amy of Portland, Oregon, and Jana of Gainesville, Virginia; two great granddaughters, Vanessa of Gainesville, Haru of Portland, and one great grandson, Silas, of Portland; and several nieces and nephews and many friends whom she cherished.
