Helen Dye Coleman 96 of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Vista Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Phillip Shumaker officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Coleman was born November 29, 1912 in Atlanta, GA daughter of the late John S. and Nellie Morris Dye. She was a member of Oates Ave. Baptist Church for over 50 years and served as the church organist and pianist. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Davis Coleman, Sr. and son, Charles David Coleman.
Survivors include her daughters, DeAnn Brown (Bobby) of Columbus, GA, Martha Nell Cleveland (James) of Duluth, GA and Helen Davis (Earnest) of Columbus, GA, son, Jefferson "Jeff" Davis Coleman, Jr. (Susan) of Box Springs, GA, ten grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
She was a loving mother and was devoted to her family, friends, and church.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Vista Care Hospice 100 Brookstone Center Parkway Columbus, GA 31904.
