Helen Louise Reed Davis, 90, of Columbus, GA departed from this life peacefully Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Allison Owen and Mr. Jimmy Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM EST Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Huntsville Memorial Gardens in Huntsville, AL 6810 University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 facemask and social distancing will be required during the services and visitation.
Helen was born February 25, 1930 to the late Hugh Reed and Ruby Gaught Reed. She retired as the cafeteria manger with the Huntsville School District, was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church of Huntsville, AL where she attended for 40 years and was in a ladies group at church called Forget Me Nots. She loved gardening, cooking, and traveling and spending time with her family. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband Lester Bridges, late husband Cass Davis, daughter-in-law Gwen Bridges, daughter Shirley Mann, and granddaughter Michelle Sisk.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Whitt (Donnie) of Huntsville, AL sons Jimmy Bridges (Regina) and Ronnie Bridges both of Columbus, GA, grandchildren Paul Whitt (Christie) of Brevard, NC, Steve Sisk of Panama City, FL, Lisa Pascua (Gabe) of Atlanta, GA, Brandon Bridges (Leigh Ann), Kristie Bridges, Justin Bridges (Beth) all of Columbus, GA, Teresa Mann of Paint Rock Valley, AL, Kelley Conkle (Chris) of Midland, GA, Katy Sanders (Shane) of Columbus, GA, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
