Helen Nulene Coleman, 100, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend David Howle officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Coleman was born October 5, 1918 in Hartford, AL daughter of the late Benjamin Dalton Phelps and Ada Matilda Grantham. She worked as a weaver for Bibb Mills and was a member of Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to work in her garden, quilting, sewing, cooking and any kind of crafts.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Coleman, daughter, Ruth Hagler, son-in-law, Wilmer Hagler, and 2 grandsons, Jeff Hagler and Scott Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Adams of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Jody Durie (Robert) of Delta, AL, Jeni Merritt (Mark) of Columbus, GA and Ginger Deppe of Phenix City, AL, great-grandchildren, Kevin Merritt (Alex), Kelly Pearse (Ryan), Colman Merritt, Ricky Davis (Tiffany), Jesse Davis (Sara), Dylan Deppe and Damon Deppe, great great-grandchildren, Ezra, Willow, Malachi, Micah, Molly, Bryan and Jacob, and numerous nieces and other friends.
