Helen Joan Bennett, 81, of Midland, Ga. died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at her residence.
A funeral service will be held 4 PM Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan McMinn officiating. Family will receive friends following the funeral service at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
Mrs. Bennett was born September 16, 1929 in Detroit, MI. the daughter of the late Gilbert Brooks and Marian Pearson Brooks. Helen had a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and retired as a school teacher with the Muscogee County School District teaching 4th grade at Reese Road Elementary. Helen loved spending time with her friends in her Bridge Groups and book clubs.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Bennett of Midland, GA, daughters, Barbara Ann Williams (Kerry) of Midland, GA, Judy Lynn Stanford (Roger) of Columbus, GA, Amy Louise Stitt (Randy) of Peachtree City, GA., sons Paul Robert Bennett (Teresa) of Columbus, GA, and Bruce Michael Bennett (Denise) Midland, GA, sister, Marjorie Alice Nacy of Bloomfield Hills, MI, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
