Heidi Marie Proft

Heidi Marie Proft (née Kutschka) passed away in her sleep during the early morning hours of October 6, 2012 after a short but intense battle with cancer at the age of 53.
She was the wife of SGM Gregory Proft; 15 Oct. would have marked their 25th anniversary. Heidi was born 3 Oct., 1959 in Redwitz a.d. Rodach in Germany to Alois and Erna Kutschka. She worked as a saleswoman for Mode-Deurling in nearby Lichtenfels before moving to Fort Carson, Colorado. Heidi also lived in Fort Irwin, California. and Post Falls, Idaho, prior to moving to Phenix City, Alabama.
She was a devoted wife and mother whose hobbies included Alabama football, cooking for friends, crafting and antiquing.
She is survived by her mother, Erna Kutschka of Redwitz a.d. Rodach, Germany; two brothers, Peter and Michael, both in Germany; and her two children, Stephanie and Alexander Proft, 23 and 15 years old, respectively.
