Hazel Mcguire Tolbert

Hazel McGuire Tolbert, 91, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Azalea Trace Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ralph Henderson officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Tolbert was born July 29, 1923 in Plains, GA, daughter of the late William C. McGuire and Georgia Mae Reynolds McGuire. She retired as Deputy Clerk in the Clerk of Council Office with the City of Columbus, GA. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a former member of 1st Baptist Church in Opelika, AL.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar W. Tolbert; sisters, Opal Sanders, Margie Moore, and Dorothy Carter and brothers, Cecil H. McGuire, Richard McGuire, and Marvin McGuire.
Surviviors include her sons, Mike Tolbert (Annette) of Brooksville, FL and Jim Tolbert (Anne) of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren; niece, Betty Allen of Columbus, GA and several other nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted; however, those so desiring may make contributions to a favorite charity.
Mike and Jim would like to give special thanks to Betty Allen who gave unbelieveable care to mom, and to Louise Tolbert and Charlotte Lovette.
