Hazel Beck Long, 90, of Milledgeville, GA died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Chapel of Moores Funeral Home 301 S. Wayne St. Milledgeville, GA 31061. Burial will be held in Westview Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Long was born March 27, 1920 in Winder, GA but lived all her adult life in Milledgeville. She was retired from General Telephone Company after 38 years of service and was a member of Milledgeville First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Presbyterian Women's Group.
Mrs. Long is survived by her daughter, Rita Long Peavy and son-in-law, The Rev. Dr. Thomas O. Peavy of Columbus, GA, grandson, Thomas O. Peavy, Jr. of Auburn, AL, granddaughter, Erin Nicole Peavy of Milledgeville, GA, sister, Gladys B. Miller of Bogart, GA, niece, Barbara S. Carnes (Ronnie) of Norcross, GA, two nephews, Arthur C. Miller, Jr. (Myrtle) of Bogart, GA and Robert M. Sessions, Jr. of Boston, MA, as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews and very dear friends.
