Ret. CW4 Harry P. Parr, 80, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Father Edward Ohm officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, October 19, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Parr was born December 9, 1928 in Westwego, LA son of the late Joseph Parr and Leonaise Boudreaux Parr. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. he had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army Aviation and retired as a CW4 at Ft. Benning, GA. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Brunnet Parr and a daughter, Debbra Harper.
Survivors include his daughter, Marylou Sullivan of Columbus, GA, son, Larry Joseph Parr (Kimberly Ann) of Atlanta, GA, granddaughter, Adrienne Eads (Joseph) of Atlanta, GA, great granddaughter, Chloe Eads of Atlanta, GA, sisters, Thelma Smith of New Orleans, LA and Muriel Rodrigue of Westwego, LA, and son-in-law, Tom Harper of Jasper, GA.
