Hampton Dockery McInnis, 75, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Trinity Episcopal Church 1130 1st Ave. Columbus, GA 31901 with Father Luke Wetzel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. McInnis was born October 12, 1940 in Clarksdale, MS, to Roy Ellis and Chatwin Doty McInnis and graduated from Clarksdale High School. He attended the University of Mississippi and Delta State University. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, loving husband, father and a veteran of the bottling industry.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Sharpe McInnis of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Carson Smith of Rome, GA and Chatwin (Randy) Winton of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren Brady and Kelly Anne Smith, Sarah Beth, Eason and Anna Grace Winton; two sisters, Carol Gordon and Connee Webster both of Greensboro, GA; and a nephew, Breck Chambers of Milledgeville, GA.
