Gwendolyn D. Adams, 61, of Phenix City, AL died Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Horne officiating. Interment will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Adams was born February 2, 1950 in Anniston, AL daughter of Margureas Moore Burnham of Smith Station, AL and the late Stewart Harold Burnham. She retired after many years working with Dr. Jose Lopez-Lago and the Hollis Eye Institute. She later was a homemaker and was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors other than her mother include her husband of 44 years, Merit H. Adams of Phenix City, AL, daughter, Gidget Helms of Daytona Beach, FL, son, Jeremy Adams (Sherri) of Abingdon, MD, sisters, Jeanette Anthony (Joe) of Phenix City, AL and June Martin (Jim) of Phenix City, AL, brothers, Leonard Burnham (Darlene) of Smiths, AL and Bobby Burnham (Barbara) of Phenix City, AL, grandchildren, Chace Helms, Chelci Helms, Tyler Adams and Ayden Adams, and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Edwards.
