Grace Jewel (Oliver) Ware

Grace Jewel Ware died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in Columbus, Georgia.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Don Wilhite officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be in Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Grace was born August 1, 1936 in Harris County, Georgia to the late Arrie Franklin and Sarah Frances Oliver. Grace proudly worked for the Muscogee County School District in administration until she had to retire for medical reasons.  She loved her family deeply and lit up when her grandchildren or great-grandchildren were even mentioned. Grace was devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ and often shared that with anyone in her company.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jim Ware, Jr. her sister, Rachel Oliver Whitby and her brother, Archie W. Oliver.

Survivors include her children, Cathy Ross and husband, Ricky of Eatonton, GA, Chuck Ware and wife, Cindy of Columbus, GA, and Jenny Nelson of Hamilton, GA; grandchildren Matt Pilcher and wife Jessica, Ashley Hester, Hayli Price and husband James, Drew Nelson and Kassidy Nelson; great-grandchildren Emma Price, Jackson Price and Hudson Bozeman; siblings Jesse Oliver, Jewel Grantham, John Oliver and wife Sybil, and Joe Oliver; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Columbus Hospice for their excellent care.
