Grace Marler Capps, 81, of Phenix City, Al. passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home with Interment in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Capps was born July 12, 1932 in Crenshaw Co. Al. daughter of the late Clarence Matthew and Omie Lee Bryant Marler of Opp, Al. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Phenix City Church of Christ and loved her church family. Grace loved to garden, work in her yard, sew, and cook, but her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, her husband of 53 years Willie Donald Capps and her brother Waylon Edward Marler precedes Mrs. Capps in death.
Survivors include her daughter Trenda Capps Burkes and husband Ricky; two grandchildren Charesa Burkes Danielson and husband Corey, Jason Burkes and wife Megan and five beautiful great grand children; Cole and Bailey Danielson, Adley, Ansley and Capps Burkes all of Phenix City, Al., sister Hazel Roberts of Marietta, Ga., and her sister-in-law Tean Marler of Opp, Al. and numerous nieces and nephews.
