Gordon George Hobbs, 63, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Chuck Hasty officiating. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Hobbs was born October 3, 1952 in Shirley, MA son of the late Comer and Lucy LeJeune Hobbs. He retired after 30 years as an Accountant for Litho-Krome. Mr. Hobbs loved gardening, fishing, Atlanta Falcons, GA Tech, golf, woodworking, stamps, and arrowhead collecting.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Julie Fleck Hobbs of Columbus, GA, daughter, Christina Owens of Columbus, GA, son, Andrew Perez (Stephanie) of Roswell, GA, sisters, Carol Walker (Chuck) of Fortson, GA and Evelyn Crenshaw (Randall) of Midland, GA, brother, Joel Hobbs (Linda) of Clermont, GA, one grandchild, Kenneth Eric Owens, III and a grandson on the way, Vincent Perez, numerous nieces, nephews other relatives, and his special dog, GiGi "Sparkplug" Hobbs.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Grace Presbyterian Church 5301 Sidney Simons Blvd. Columbus, GA 31904 or to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901.
