Gloria Ann Martin, 82, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home with Reverend Warner Noles officiating. The family will receive friends following the service according to the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ms. Martin was born October 20, 1928 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Charlie Malloy and Ilene Cone Phillips. She was the co-owner of Alabama-Georgia Cigarette Service, Inc. for many years.
Gloria was affectionately known as "Moochie" to her family. Although she bare no children, she was a parental figure to many of her family members providing much love, care, and shelter for so many years of her life. She always put others needs before herself. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and close friends.
Survivors include her nephew, David Strickland (Amy) of Columbus, GA, three nieces, Pat Griffin (Larry) of Smiths, AL, Becky O'hara (Patrick) of Cataula, GA and Ann Moorefield (Wimberley) of Chelsea, AL, four great nieces, Kimberly Oram, Chandler Strickland, Tracy Brown and Jennifer Moorefield, and seven great nephews, Carson Strickland, Kevin Bragg, Kerry Bragg, Allen Griffin, Keeley Hamilton, Kelly Hamilton, and Kent Hamilton.
