Gloria Jean Hudson, 81, of Phenix City went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Vista Care Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL with Rev. Emory Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 till 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hudson was born October 20, 1929 in Corbin, Kentucky daughter of the late Nannie Greer Turner and Oscar M. Turner. She was valedictorian upon high school graduation from Bakerhill High School in 1949. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading. She was a member of Faith Temple Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bobby Hudson, sister, Blonnie Willingham and brothers, Oliver, Millard and Willie Turner.
Survivors include her son Bob Hudson and wife Michele, granddaughters, Marylynn Hudson and Sarah Hudson; great grandchild, Ayden Dennis all of Phenix City, AL; sister, Carrie Dudley of Crawford, AL; brother, Douglas Turner of Fayetteville, GA and several nieces and nephews.
