Gloria Jean Foster, age 77, of Antioch, TN, passed away February 9, 2024. Jean was born on November 8, 1946, in Columbus, GA, to the late Walter and  Frances Foster.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 14, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.

After graduation from LaGrange College and Duke University, Jean became a Diaconal Minister in the United Methodist Church and served in Georgia and Mississippi. In 1989, Jean was Minister of Education in Tennessee at Hillcrest United Methodist Church and then at Forest Hills United Methodist Church. She finished her professional career at the United Methodist Publishing House and Cokesbury. During the COVID-19 quarantine, Jean wrote and recorded several songs, some of which can be found on YouTube.

She is survived by a brother, Ronnie Foster of Tiger, GA; a niece, Renee (Jamey) Coleman of Ellijay, GA; a nephew, David (Wanda) Foster of Canton, GA; and by many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Linda Foster.
