Glenn Ketchum, 55, of Columbus, GA passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, after a 12-year battle against Parkinson’s disease.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2022, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Glenn was born December 22, 1966, in Rantoul, Illinois to Sandra Keiser Ketchum and the late Richard “Pop” Wayne Ketchum and. He graduated from Kendrick High School in 1985 and attended Columbus College. He then went on to work for many years in the cable industry and started his own locator business.
Among spending time with his friends and family, he enjoyed watching sports, and was a compassionate animal lover, taking in cats and dogs who needed food and lots of love. Glenn’s heart for those in need was not only focused on animals as he was known to offer up his home, food, or his truck for those in need, no matter if it was an acquaintance, family, or friend.
He is survived by his mother Sandra Ketchum, his siblings Linda Shepherd, Frank (Valorie) Ketchum, Sheri Williams, and Diana Ketchum as well as nieces and nephews, Jeremy Ketchum, Jessica (Eric) Hutson, Justin (Brandy) Shepherd, Rachel Shepherd, Sarah (Scott) Manucy, Emily (Bryan) Jaynes, and Corey (Maci) Harmon. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Glenn’s honor. Glenn’s passion after his diagnosis was to support the Parkinson’s Foundation in hopes of finding improved drugs and treatments as well as a cure for Parkinson’s.
