Glenda Joyce Griffin, 70, of Cataula, GA died Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Medical Center in Columbus.
Graveside services will be held 4:00 P.M., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Clowers United Methodist Church Cemetery 315 Denny Road, Cataula, GA with Rev. Dan MacMinn officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Griffin was born March 20, 1942 in Decatur, Alabama daughter of the late Melvin Edward Robertson and Vivian Johnson Robertson. She was retired after 35 years as an administrator for the Harris County School District. She was a member of the Cataula United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward David Griffin, Jr. and brother, Melvin Wayne Robertson.
Survivors include her daughter, Vivian Wiggs (Tim) of Midland, GA; son, Edward Griffin, III (Page) of Cataula, GA; sisters, Margaret Dameworth of Waverly, TN, Sandy Hilton-Jacob of Smyrna, GA, Trish Cummings of Athens, GA, Diane Hardin, of Albany, GA and Carole Williamson of Hamilton, GA; brother, Dave Robertson of Boone, NC; grandchildren, Christian Wiggs, Ethan Griffin and Melissa Griffin and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Cataula United Methodist Church 107 Lewis Circle Cataula, GA 31804 or to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1382, Columbus, GA 31902.
