Gladys Wills Rushing, 90, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, March 15, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Brown officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Steve Rushing, Chris Rushing, Al Coppock, Ronnie Fowler, Billy Thornton, and Mark Walker. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Rushing was born December 7, 1921 in Parrot, GA daughter of the late Elijah and Lonie Stephens Wills. She worked in sales at J.C. Penny, and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and the Senior Saints Sunday School class.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Banks Rushing, son, Gary Rushing, brother, Richard Wills, sisters, Claudia Perkins, Susie Shellhouse, Mary McEarchen, Lois Fountain, and Estelle Fletcher.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Rushing Ellison of Columbus, GA, daughter-in-law, Beverly Rushing Tate of Ellerslie, GA, grandsons, Steve Rushing and Chris Rushing (Trina), great grandchildren, Tyler Rushing, Gabriel Rushing and Briana Bretelson, and several nieces and nephews.
