Gina Hill Christoff
November 25, 1957 — July 18, 2014
Gina Elizabeth (Hill) Christoff of Dallas, Texas passed away on July 18, 2014 after a brief illness. She was visiting her father in Auburn, Alabama when she became ill and subsequently passed away at Columbus Regional Health Center in Columbus, Georgia.
Gina was born on November 25, 1957, in Manchester, Georgia, just a few miles from where she spent her last hours. She was the oldest child of Roy Hill and Rachel Barker Hill. She grew up in Siler City, NC and Cullman, AL, graduating from Cullman High School in 1976. After graduating from Birmingham Southern College, Gina moved to Texas where she lived and worked, first in Midland then, since 1984, in Dallas. Gina's life was devoted to her family and she was especially proud of her children: Caroline, a graduate student at the University of Texas, and David, a recent graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Gina is survived by her husband of 27 years, Carl (Buddy) Christoff; her children, Caroline and David; her father, Roy Hill of Auburn, Alabama; her brother Andy Hill of Dallas; her brother Al Hill of Atlanta, Georgia, and his wife Pam; her niece Elizabeth Hill and her nephews Matt and Brian Hill, all of Atlanta; her brother-in-law, Bruce Christoff and his wife Karen, her brother-in-law Bill Christoff and his wife Joanie, and her mother-in-law Dorothy Christoff, all of Massillon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel Barker Hill, whom Gina lovingly cared for during her mother's extended illness.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Family will receive friends at their home in Dallas on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
