Gertraud “Trudy” (Braun) Reilly

Gertraud “Trudy” Reilly (Braun), born April 22, 1939 and a resident of Midland, GA for the last eight years, left this world on May 30th, 2021. She was surrounded her children when she went to be with God in Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Richard Reilly, and leaves behind her children, Michael Bruce Reilly, his wife

Marcie; Richard Craig Reilly, his wife Crystal; Linda Reilly Blythe, her husband Robert, Barbara Ann Reilly, Karen Marie Metcalf, her husband Jim; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends. Mom, we love you and are comforted in knowing you are with Our Lord and Father, dad and all of the people you loved who went before you. We will see you, again, and until then, we will hold you in our hearts and strive to show others the same love, compassion, and nurturing spirit you showered upon us and everyone who had the privilege of having their lives touched by you.

At this time, no formal memorial service is scheduled but plans will be made to have a ceremony, to honor and celebrate both Trudy and Richard, at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Rocky Gap State Park, MD, where their ashes will be interred together.  Besides it being beautiful and a place that held many great family memories, it also brings their bodies back to the area they called home, together, for over 50 years.
