Geraldine Clemmons King

Geraldine "Jerry" Clemmons King, 88, of Columbus, GA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. J. P. Grantham officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. King was born November 23, 1929 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Joseph Olin Clemmons and Agnus Gertrude Carr Clemmons of Columbus, GA. She retired from the Muscogee County School System, where she devoted decades of service to the education of children. She was a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church, enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, fishing and traveling.
Other than her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jesse Lee King, her brother, Joseph Myron Clemmons of Columbus, GA, and sisters, Mary Florence Clemmons of Columbus, GA and Margaret Othelia Murray of Jonesborough, TN.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Kay Hightower of Columbus, GA and Charlotte Potts (Tim) of Acworth, GA; sons, Garry King (Debbie) of Midland, GA and Lee King (Debbie) of Columbus, GA; 5 grandchildren, Robert Ebberman, III (Maggie) of Acworth, GA, Lauren Dimitri (Tony) of Waverly Hall, GA, Andrew King, Megan Hooks (Michael), and Harrison Hightower all of Columbus, GA; and 7 great-grandchildren, Brielle Ebberman and Tegan Ebberman both of Acworth, GA, Cayden Dimitri and Carrington Dimitri both of Waverly Hall, GA, and Keelee King, Blakely King and Damon Hooks all of Columbus, GA.
