Gerald "Wayne" Weems, also called "Two Weeks", 40, of Columbus, GA, died Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 3, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Gene Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Weems was born August 12, 1974 in Columbus, GA, son of Arthur Gerald Weems and the late Barbara Smith Weems. He was an electrician for Tiya through Ft. Benning, GA . Mr. Weems was a loving husband and father who loved fishing and the University of Georgia Football. He was a member of the local IBEW 613.
Survivors other than his father include his wife of 11 years, Molly Norris Weems of Columbus, GA; daughter, Makenna Leigh-Anne Weems of Columbus, GA; sister, Gaylene McManus of Panama City, FL; brother, Arthur Mitchell Weems (Valerie) of Smiths Station, AL; uncles, R. B. Smith (Ruth) and Ray Travis Weems (Nora) both of Columbus, GA; father-in-law, Douglas Norris and his wife Patricia of Columbus, GA; mother-in-law, Barbara Barber of Columbus, GA; brothers-in-law, Mitchell Norris of Columbus, GA and Clay Norris of Carrollton, GA; step-brothers-in-law, Jason and Justin Harrell and Robert Gordon all of Columbus, GA; step-sister-in-law, Averi Faulk of Phenix City, AL; and numerous other family members and a host of friends.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the Valley Rescue Mission, 2903 2nd Ave. Columbus, GA 31904 or contributions may be made to his daughter, Makenna Weems at the MEA Federal Credit Union.
