George C. Mcduffie

George C. McDuffie, 75, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, June 11, 2023 at his residence.

The memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Cascade Hills Church with Rev. Ken Dawson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, 727 54th St, Columbus, GA 31904 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907

George was born July 31, 1947 in Winnsboro, LA,to the late Myles McDuffie and Mattie Harper McDuffie. He was a teacher at Eddie and Richards Middle Schools for the Muscogee County School District prior to retiring. He was lovingly known as the “candy man” to all, whether dear friends, acquaintances, or anyone with whom he came into contact. George was a faithful member of Cascade Hills Baptist Church and served as a greeter and usher for over 29 years. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family, friends and had various hobbies that included making new friends, photography, travel, and detailing his vehicles. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Evelyn Brown, and brother, Myles Harper McDuffie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rosalie McDuffie of Cataula, GA, sons, Michael McDuffie (Paul Likins) of Bedford, NY, Christopher McDuffie (Shannon) of Shannonville, Ontario, Canada, grandchildren, Jackson McDuffie (Gabriella) of Montgomery, AL, Adrianna Maracle and Braeden Maracle of Shannonville, Ontario, Canada, sister Ann McDuffie Johnson of Jackson, LA, sister-in-law, Patsy Robinson McDuffie, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
