George H. Lloyd

George H. Lloyd passed away at the Columbus Regional Medical Center at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. He died of congestive heart failure and other complications following surgery.
George Lloyd was born on February 23, 1953 in Columbus, GA to Roy Lee Lloyd, Sr. and Nelle Latimer Lloyd. He was a graduate of Columbus High School, class of 1971, and a long-time resident of The Ralston, 2nd Ave. and 12th Street, Columbus, GA.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy L. Lloyd, Sr. of Columbus, GA, brother, Roy Lee Lloyd, Jr. of Franklin, GA, and sister, Sue Harliss Lloyd of Columbus, GA.
He is survived by his mother, Nelle L. Lloyd of Columbus, two sisters, Nancy D.L. Sutton of Columbus and Beverly K.L. Abidin of Columbus, three brothers, James M. Lloyd of Acworth, GA, William L. Lloyd of Snellville, GA and David R. Lloyd of Surry, VA, numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.
There are no plans for a public gathering. The family plans for cremation of the remains and a private family memorial service in the next few days according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
