George Stanley Cliff, 70, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Columbus Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church 5122 Pierce Chapel Rd. Midland, GA 31820 with Rev. Howard White and Rev. Lynn Meadows-White officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Cliff was born March 21, 1948 in Thomaston, GA son of the late William Leslie Cliff and Florine Dunnahoo Cliff. He was a Manager at the Ft. Benning Golf Course for over 40 years. He was an active member of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church where he was in the Home Builders Group and enjoyed Wednesday night suppers. He loved spending time with his friends, golfing, fishing, hunting and was a yard fanatic.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Linda Wilkinson Cliff of Columbus, GA, daughter, Christy Cliff McGinley (Rick) of Suwanee, GA and their children, Carson Campbell and Reagan McGinley, step-son, Marc Spano (Cynthia) of Columbus, GA and their children, Sophie Spano and Gracie Spano, step-daughter, Sunday Sanders (Eddie) of Columbus, GA, and their children, Sydney Sanders and Ethan Sanders, brothers, Richard Cliff (Julie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Bill Cliff (Penny) of Thomaston, GA, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church Mission Team or to the East Alabama Humane Society 712 13th St. East Phenix City, AL 36867.
