George Albert Bullard, 93, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Central Baptist Church 8303 Whitesville Rd. Columbus, GA 31904 with Reverend Thomas Pope, Reverend Gary Richardson, Reverend Udell Addison, and Pastor Raymond Smith officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Bullard was born May 1, 1918 in Washington, GA son of the late Thomas Haney Bullard and Madge Brickle Flander. He retired after 21 years from the U.S. Army as an E-7 and later worked as a Post Engineer for the Civil Service for 18 years. He was a member and a deacon at Central Baptist Church and Wynnton Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Ft. Benning Masonic Lodge.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack Bullard and a brother, David Earl Bullard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Jenny Louise Polk Bullard of Columbus, GA, two sons, Kenny Bullard (Brenda) of Atlanta, GA and Duane Bullard (Anne Davey) of Tahlequah, OK, daughter-in-law, Barbara Bullard King of Venice, FL, two granddaughters, two grandsons, several great grandchildren.
