Gary Alan Lavender, 58, of Fortson, GA died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Stephen Brinkman officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Lavender was born February 26, 1956 in Columbus, GA son of the late Hollis Lavender and Carolyn Lavender. He worked as a Production Manager. He was a member of Midland United Methodist Church. Gary will be remembered by family and friends as a man who loved to travel and made friends everywhere. His kindness was contagious and we were blessed to have him as a loving father, brother, husband and friend.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Leslie Lavender.
Survivors include his daughter, Madison Lavender of Fortson, GA; brother, Greg Lavender (Elecia) of Graham, AL; the mother of his daughter, Wendy Lavender of Fortson, GA; and nephews, Mitchell Lavender and Brandon Lavender both of Graham, AL.
