Gary “Leo” Ivey, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at his residence.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, November 25, 2024 at Lakeview Cemetery in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday, November 24, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Leo was born on September 25, 1948 in Phenix City, AL to the late Robert Leo Ivey and Mary Gladys Kennington Ivey. He worked for Southern National Gas for over 32 years serving in numerous roles and as a project manager for Community Construction, Inc. for 20 years. He was a Baptist by faith. Leo loved golfing, cooking, entertaining, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an all-star baseball player in his younger days. He will be remembered for his giving nature and his fun-loving spirit.
Other than his parents he is preceded in by his brother, Ronnie Ivey and brother-in-law, Pete Toole.
Leo is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky Ivey of Phenix City, AL; daughter, Mary Katherine Atchinson (Seth) of Phenix City, AL; siblings, Charles Ivey (Lynda) of Phenix City, AL; Pricilla Niebel (Jack) of Columbus, GA; Grady Ivey (Margie) of Phenix City, AL; and Gypsy Toole of Phenix City, AL; two grand-daughters, Gracie Anne Atchinson and Abby Kate Atchinson of Phenix City, AL; sister-in-law, Pat Ivey of Phenix City, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
