Ms. Frida Mathilda Schumm Greenway "Oma", 78, passed away early Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at her home.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer 4700 Armour Rd.

Ms. Greenway was born June 27, 1931 in Goeppingen, Germany to the late Eberhard and Sophie Frida Schumm. Ms. Greenway was a hard worker and devoted her life to helping others. She retired from Martin Army Hospital in 1995 then worked with the Medical Center of Columbus Gift Shop; continuing her diligent, faithful and conscientious service to the community she volunteered with Columbus Regional Health Care System, Medical Center Auxillary, St. Francis and the Butterfly Center in Callaway Gardens. Her purpose was evident through her 45 years of fellowship at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and membership with Klub-Heimatland, St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Ms. Greenway is survived by brothers, Eberhard Schumm and Karl Eckhardt; Granddaughters, Frida Powers-Coates, husband, Timothy Coates and Pamela Powers-Trahan, husband, Timothy Trahan; great grandchildren, Richard Powers (adoptee), Hannah Trahan and Timothy Trahan, Jr.; also several nieces and nephews in Germany and Switzerland.

Oma will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
