Fred Curtis Bowman, Sr. 75 of Columbus, Ga. died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowman was born March 20, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia son of the late Fred Harvey Bowman and Beulah Inez Hutchinson Bowman. He was the former owner of DRC Trucking Company and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict.
Other than his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Phyllis Bowman and granddaughter AuGusta Bowman.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Dee M. Bowman of Columbus, Ga., three daughters, Lisa Martinez (Bobby) of Albuquerque, New Mexico Arlene Cornell (Shawn) of Columbus, Ga., Bobbi "Joey" Duckro (Matthew) of Atlanta, Ga., three sons, Robert Bowman of Salem, Al., Fred C. Bowman, Jr. (Janet) and Ray Bowman (Melissa) both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sister, Ann Tipton (Phillip) of Harris County, Ga. 19 grandchildren, Tiffany, Alicia, Stacy, Hollie, Jeffrey, Jennifer, J.J., Hunter, Jesse, Curt Curt, Selena, Aiden, Dallas, Lexie, Christian, Noah, Ray Ray, Bentley and Rowlin and four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Caden, Ryder and Aliyana.
