It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Franklin Douglas Shine, Sr., 82, of Columbus, Georgia on Monday October 23, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 in the chapel of The Church in the County, 12289 GA Highway 315 Cataula, GA 31804.
Franklin Shine, affectionately known as “Bubba” or “Bruh”, was born at the Old City Hospital in Columbus, Georgia on March 4, 1941 to Vera Mae Shine and Clarence David Shine. Bubba is a member of the 1959 graduated class of Central High School of Phenix City, Alabama. Bruh retired from Goldens Foundry after numerous years of dedicated service.
He is preceded in death by his father Clarence David Shine, mother, Vera Mae Shine, brother, James David Shine, sisters, Geraldine Shine and Louise Israel.
He is survived by his sons, Franklin Douglas Shine, Jr. (Laura) and James David Shine (Ashley), daughters, Susan Shine Lynch and Kimberly Shine Rowan (Michael), 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
