Frank Starling Bussey, formerly of Manchester, Georgia, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with Rev. Mark Carter assisted by Rev. Gaston Pollock. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Fred Smith, William Smith, Will Smith, Cal McDonald , Rob Trimble and Jim Talley. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Davis, Francis Gardner, Alex Harrison, Paul Harrison, Calvin McDonald and Bob Whitmore.
Mr. Bussey was born in Talbot County, Georgia on May 16, 1926 to the late Francis Cook Bussey and Frances Malinda Starling Bussey. In later years, the family moved to Manchester, Georgia where Frank graduated from Manchester High. He was drafted August 31, 1944 and served honorably for two years in the US Army during World War II. He was an Insurance Sales Representative for 39 years, retiring from American General Insurance Company June 1, 1991. He attended various Leadership Conferences for outstanding performance during his career. He was held in high esteem by his associates and regarded as a man of integrity and presence.
Frank had a great love for the Boy Scout Program and enjoyed working with the local Troup in Manchester, Ga. during his sonâ
