Frances Mary Brossett, 96, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Lee County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gerard Schreck officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery in Ft. Benning, GA. A rosary will be said Thursday evening at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Frances was born January 18, 1915 in Ft. Plain, NY daughter of the late John and Eva Van Camp Hayes. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, DAR, DAV, and an avid supporter of the U.S. Military and the United States of America.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pierce Brossett, son, Leonard Brossett, sisters, Margaret Morgan, Dorothy Sheppard and Evelyn Boldt, brother, Walter Hayes, and grandson, Troy Brossett.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne and wife, Mary Ann of Lee County, GA, Leslie and wife, Donna of Fortson, GA and Douglas and wife, Maria of Hollywood, FL and daughter-in-law, Lynette of Midland, GA, sisters, Mary Hayes and Catherine Morgan, brother, Robert Hayes, grandsons, Pierce, Eric, William, Nathan, Douglas, Bryan, Cory and Garrett, granddaughters, Lauren and Kara, and great grandchildren, Caroline, Ashleigh, and Austin.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to the Lee County Nursing Home P.O. Box 859 Leesburg, GA 31763.
