Forrest Mabry Pitts, 74, of Phenix City, AL died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Newman and Reverend Ben Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Pitts was born April 5, 1939 in Marietta, GA son of the late Farrell W. and Annie Mae Pitts. He was a local real estate agent and business man. He sold and taught the Dale Carnegie course for 25 years.
Forrest was a 1960 graduate of John Marshall University in Atlanta, GA; but, his greatest accomplishment was his marriage to his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Pitts.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Pitts of Columbus, GA, children, Ben Pitts and his wife, LeaAnn of Phenix City, AL, Kelly Cargill and her husband, Gill Cargill of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Thack Cargill and Sam Cargill, and brothers and sisters, Faye Austin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Mildred McClung of Powder Springs, GA and Jim Pitts and his wife, Carol of Senoia, GA, and four loving nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to your favorite charity.
