Florence “Flo” Irene Medaris, 90, of Upatoi, GA died Thursday, April 28, 2022 at West Georgia Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 2, 2022 at United Baptist Church 606 Lilac Ln, Phenix City, AL, 36869 with Rev. Joe Morris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Melton Cemetery Wooton, KY.
Flo was born October 17, 1931 in Hyden, KY to the late Hyden Wooton and Mary Bailey Wooton. She was a self-employed Beautician and a member of United Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL. She loved to play the guitar, piano, and sing. She enjoyed traveling, was a social butterfly and life of the party. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Medaris, 8 brothers and sisters, and great-grandchild, Jada Williams.
She is survived by her sons, Billy James Melton (Maria) of Columbus, GA, Danny “Dan” Ray Melton (Nancy) of Phenix City, AL, Michael “Mike” Melton of Douglasville, GA, Gregg Melton of Stone Mountain, GA, grandchildren, Shawnya, Staci, Sherrie, Jason, Amber, Kim, Casey, great-grandchildren, Shayla, Mikhail, Bailey, Joshua, Wren, Irene, great-great-grandchildren, Maci.
