Smiths, AL - Florence G. Spann, 86 of Smiths died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Columbus.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, April 30, 2010 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 till 8 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. Spann was born November 24, 1923 in Houston County, AL daughter of the late Emma Lee Pippins Givens and James Morgan Givens. She had worked for Eagle and Phenix Textile Mills and was Baptist by faith. She loved to watch her cooking shows and Animal Planet. She was preceded in death by her husband James Rayford "Ray" Spann, son Eulis M. Coker and step-son Buddy Spann.
Survivors include her daughter Joyce Murphy and husband Roy of Smiths, AL; step-daughters Louise Randall of Columbus, GA and Ouida Munoz of San Jose, CA; step-son Wayne Spann of Seale, AL; sister Annie Lee Killingsworth of Crawford, AL; grandchildren Allen Murphy and wife (Johnna) of Columbus, GA, Penny McNabb of Smiths, AL and Joann Jones and husband Robert of Salem, AL; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
