Florence H. Fadul, 91, of Fortson, Ga, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Father Frank Patterson officiating. A Private Interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fadul was born August 12, 1924 in Janesville, WI, daughter of the late Lewis and Eva Hanson. She was president of her nursing class at Northwestern University and was trained as an RN in the High Risk Neonatal Program. A very spiritual person and devoted to her family, she was a member of The Church of the Holy Family. She was a lifelong avid reader, and a generous volunteer of her time for many organizations.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Col. William G. Fadul and her son Steven L. Fadul (Theresa Fadul).
Survivors include her son, William M. Fadul (Maggie Meroney) of Brookhaven, GA; daughter, Linda C. Kavanaugh of Fortson, GA; daughter, Leila S. Fadul of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Erin Kirkley (Matt Kirkley) of Fortson, GA, Zoë E.F. Meroney of Brooklyn, NY, and Claire K. Fadul of Vancouver, Canada; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Lauren Brown, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
