First Sergeant Army Ret. Jose A. Pena, 79, of Columbus died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Columbus Specialty Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with Father Gerard Schreck officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
First Sergeant Army Ret. Jose A. Pena was born September 1, 1931 in San Antonio, TX. He was a retired veteran from the U.S. Army having served during the Viet Nam war and the Korean conflict. After retiring from the army he went to work for Dolly Madison and later retired from there. He was a true fan of the Columbus Cottonmouths Hockey Team. He was a mason and of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kou Abe Pena.
Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Pena of Columbus, GA and Barbara Pena of New York City, NY; a brother Paul Pena of Dallas, TX and a sister Emilia Pena of Dallas, TX.
