Fannie Laura Harrell Clements 81, of Columbus, Ga. died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Beckham officiating. Interment will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Bay Springs Cemetery Rhine, Ga. with Rev. Charles Cox officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.

Mrs. Clements was born May 28, 1933 on her family farm 7 miles outside Eastman, GA daughter of the late Floyd E. and Virgie Lou Harrell. She was a Graduate of Eastman GA High School and Georgia Southwestern College for Women in Milledgeville GA with a BS Degree in Business.

Mrs. Clements married Frank M. Clements Jr. in 1954 and moved to Columbia, SC and served as Secretary to the US Army Colonel in Charge of Public Relations for Ft. Jackson while Frank served in the US Army and then they moved to Knoxville, TN in 1956 when Frank was discharged from the Army and worked as Administrative Assistant to the Manager of a local Radio station while Frank taught at University of Tennessee. The couple moved to Columbus GA in 1959 when Frank was hired as Athletic Director and Head basketball and baseball coach at Columbus College.

Mrs. Clements was a member of St. Luke United Methodist church and was very active serving as Circle 3 President and bible teacher, leader in Respite Care and Meals on Wheels program. She served as President of the UMW group and was a dedicated servant and minister to all people she encountered, always remembering personal and family details of each person. Mrs. Clements was elected St. Luke Quiet Disciple for 2013.

Mrs. Clements is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank M."Sonny" Clements, Jr.; three children, Son, Michael F. Clements of Fortson GA, Louann Clements Buck, wife of William C. Buck Jr. of Columbus, GA and Son, Floyd E. Clements, husband to Rebecca Walden Clements of Pine Mountain, GA; Seven Grandchildren, Justin M. Clements, Caitlin C. Clements and Bradley F. Clements of Atlanta, GA, children of Michael,
Victoria Whitley Buck and William C. Buck III, children of William and Louann Buck, MaCayla E. Clements and Luke D. Clements, children of Floyd and Rebecca Clements.
