Evelyn "Gerri" Herring Ciappina, 70, of Phenix City, AL died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday, September 15, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Jeremy Green officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ciappina was born February 5, 1944 in Mobile, AL, daughter of the late Rudolph Herring and Evelyn Moates Herring. She retired as a secretary from the Phenix City Board of Education. She was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ in Phenix City, AL.
Survivors include her sons, Scott Ciappina (Tina) of Woodstock, GA and Chris Ciappina (Kathleen) of London, WV; sister, Barbara Davis of Phenix City, AL; brother, Ralph Herring of Gainesville, GA; grandchldren, Hunter Ciappina, Slade Ciappina, Phillip Shahan, Kaitlyn Shahan and Ilea Shahan; and the father of her children, Thomas Ciappina.
