Evelyn Jeter Brooks, 79, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.
A funeral service for family and close friends will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, August, 12, 2020 in the Chapel of McMullen funeral Home and Crematory , 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive close friends in the Chapel at 10:00AM. Interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at a later date. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, those attending the funeral service will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect.
Mrs. Brooks was born April 12, 1941 in Alabama to the late William Dinnie Jeter and Maggie Lucile Williams Jeter. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Brooks, daughter, Theresa Beasley, son, Eddie Beasley, a granddaughter, two brothers and a sister. Mrs. Brooks was a retired textile worker.
Mrs. Brooks' main focus was her love of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed reading, camping and spending time with family and friends. She attended Glenn Anthony Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Beasley Peterson (Paul), and a son Steven Beasley (Crystal), daughter-in-law, Kelle Beasley, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many that will miss her.
