Eunice Elizabeth Saines, 89, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapelwith Dr. Don Wilhite officiating. A private interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Monday, August 22, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Saines was born January 28, 1922 in Randolph County, AL daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Birchfield and Mary Darkous Roughton Hamilton. She was a homemaker and attended Calvary Baptist Church as she was able. Other than her parents, Mrs. Saines was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Evans Clarence Saines; her daughter, Mary Priscilla Higginbotham; her sister, Minnie Arnett and her brother, William Birchfield.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Saines of West Point, GA; grandchildren, Katie Walden (Mark) of Columbus, GA, Tara Dietrich (Scott) of Ellerslie, GA, Shirlene Newsome of Augusta, GA, Aaron Swain of Columbus, GA, Andrew Swain of Phenix City, AL, and David Higginbotham of Augusta, GA; great grandchildren, Tommy Walden, John Ryan Walden and Evan Walden all of Columbus, GA.; son-in-law, Ozzie Higginbotham of Augusta, GA and son-in-law, Tom Swain of Columbus, GA.
