Esteban Steve Arroyo

Esteban Steve Arroyo, 75 of Columbus, GA died Monday January 8, 2024, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.

A memorial service with full military honors including a dedication presented by The American Legion and VFW will be held 4:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.  He will be laid to rest at a later date in his hometown of Bronx, NY.

Esteban was born May 7, 1948 in Corozal, Puerto Rico to the late Octavio Arroyo and Maria Adorno Arroyo. He retired from the United States Army after serving 23 years. During his time in the military he did two tours to Vietnam and received multiple military honors. After retiring from the military, he then went on to work for TSYS as a Mailroom Operations Manager retiring after 20 years.

Mr. Arroyo was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, his wife, Marilyn Tiru Arroyo. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Arroyo of Columbus, GA, son and wife, Steve and Karlee Arroyo of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Jalen Esteban Mitchell, Elias Manuel Negron, Victoria Maria Negron, Ace Alexander Arroyo, Seven Sofia Arroyo, siblings, Octavio Arroyo Jr, Milagro M. Perez, Antonia M. McCheachin, Lucia Belen Guadalupe, Rosa M. Tiru, and Aida Serrano.

Esteban was a loving man not only to his wife, children, and grandchildren, but to anyone who crossed his path. A selfless giver with a passion for celebrating life, laughter, and music. He was compassionate and enjoyed meaningful conversations over a fine glass of scotch. He will truly be missed by many but will always remain alive in our hearts and spirit.
