Ernestine Porter, 81, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 3, 2014 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Donnie McCoy officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Porter was born August 21, 1932 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Walter J. and Kinnie Elzona Powell. She graduated from Jordan High School. In 1957, she married Johnnie Paul Porter and moved to Chicago, IL where her son, Kenneth, was born. In 1983, she returned to Columbus to care for her mother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years in 2010 and then relocated to Phoenix, AZ.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Porter of Phoenix, AZ; nieces and nephews; and numerous extended local family members.
